What Fabrics Can You Use With Puff Products?

According to the manufacturer Special Materials, the following fabrics will press well: cotton, uncoated polyester, fabric blends, and polyester-acrylic blends. Never use nylon because the material is not compatible with the puff fabric.

How Do You Cut And Apply This Puff Vinyl?

Pressure temperature thresholds vary depending on the color you select; while most colors have an entry of 305 degrees Fahrenheit, press white and silver at 270 degrees. In contrast, lilac and neon colors require a point of 275 degrees Fahrenheit.

Before applying the vinyl, test out your cut settings to ensure they are ideal, especially with working with a machine blade rather than with a Xacto. Silhouette, Cricut, and Graphtec have different requirements. While Silhouette can work with iron-on puff vinyl, Cricut will apply for heat transfer best.

Cut a mirror image onto the vinyl when applying your design. Make sure the clear plastic side is facedown. Peel the corner of the carrier to see if it has a shiny or matte surface. Keep the blade at a 45-degree angle.

Use medium pressure and apply it evenly using a heat press for about 8.15 seconds. Apply additional pressure in 4-second increments if necessary. Once done, however, please use a hot peel and remove the carrier or transfer sheet immediately.
